ROOMSERVICE presents Ottawa’s Premier Boutique Event Venue

We are located in a beautifully restored historic mansion in the heart of our Nation’s Capital.  We are close to the Byward Market, the University of Ottawa, Embassy Row & Canadian Government buildings, and all the major hotels and restaurants.

Should you require additional services, we offer in house Catering & Beverage Services, Floral Design, Professional Videography & Photography, state of the art Bose sound systems and video/teleconferencing equipment.   *We welcome outside caterers and event planners.

The Mansion – The Dominion of Canada was created in 1867. Only 18 years later, James W. Woods, (1855 – April 25, 1941), was outfitting lumbermen in the Ottawa Valley with his own special brand of canvas supplies. Over the following decades, Woods’ fame and fortune would continue to grow and prosper along with our new country.

Built in 1899, the home was given the name Maison Kildare by it’s owner, Sir James W. Woods.  He was a Canadian industrialist and philanthropist who was knighted in 1915 for wartime industrial work and named Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1917 for his work as a member of the British War Commission in New York.  Later, this grand home was used for a barracks for injured soldiers and their families, then became office space.

This historic mansion continues to be lovingly restored and is now available for Private Events.

David Kenneth de Bruce – Founder & President

David has brought a wealth of experience from over 20 years in high end residential, hotel and restaurant interior design to our exclusive Private Event Venue.  He has personally designed and overseen the restoration of this historic property.  His passion for art, music, travel and fine food adds inspires the dedication of the ROOMSERVICE team to provide the best quality, outstanding customer care, and the authentic experience to our clients.

Michele Edwards – Manager, Special Events, Meetings and Conferences

As our Event Venue Manager, Michele is responsible for the planning and execution of your special event.  From your initial visit, Michele and our staff work with you to create your event concept and budget, then see to each and every detail and personally to oversee the event.  Michele is here for our clients every step of the way.

Michele has years of experience in Event Management, planning and executing stunning Boutique Weddings, Private Parties and Corporate Events, Receptions, Presentations & Seminars.

Add to that, being a professional florist means we can create the perfect aesthetic for your events in house.

Ethan Edwards – Multimedia Services & Production Manager

A talented and accredited Videographer with a passion for storytelling and learning, Ethan has become a valued and integral part of the ROOMSERVICE story.  You’ll find him behind the lens, at the screen in creative mode, and out front supporting all members of the team at ROOMSERVICE.COM and at our Boutique Event Space.
