The pizza is definitely the star of the menu…as well it should be. The crust is hand crafted and cooked perfectly in the wood fired oven. David’s favourite is the Rustica with proscuitto, fresh arugula, tomatoes and shaved parmesan. Our friends at the tasting also loved the Margherita – a pizza as traditional as it gets. Our surprise favourite was the Napoletana with mozza, parmesan, oregano and anchovies. The anchovies were perfectly salty and flavourful. It’s time to try Anchovies again! Anthony imports a sparkling white and red wine from nearby his family’s village in Italy dubbed “the Pizza Wine”…I kid you not, it’s a great pairing.
We like the window tables, but we also had a great time sitting at the counter for our menu tasting. It gave us a great view of the attention to detail that is paid to preparing the pizza and using the wood fired stone oven. It’s a great way to talk to the friendly staff as well.
