We love Gongfu!  We’ve sent so many friends and followers for sure.  Gongfu serves handcrafted steamed buns (bao) & a whole lot more. Chinese & Taiwanese culinary traditions are at the heart of how they craft their bao. The creativity & utility of street food inspire their playful Gongfu creations as well as their renditions of the classics.  Gongfu is dedicated to fair employment practices & responsible sourcing of their ingredients. Go in for a quick meal, or grab fresh bao to-go.
We also love the Gongfu story: Tarek began by crowdfunding to start a food cart.  The Bao cart was so successful they’ve now opened a bricks & mortar location in the heart of Centretown.  All the names of the people who helped crowdfund the cart are written on the wall above the kitchen to say thank you.  The food is fabulous and the entire Gongfu team is a pleasure to know.  We had a great time filming at Gongfu!

Best parking is street parking anywhere near Gongfu.  Closest is on Gilmour Street, east of Bank Street.

David loves the Brisket and the Fried Chicken Baos and the Turduckin Sui Mai is to die for.  See ROOMSERVICE Episode 1 when David tries to make them in the Gongfu kitchen.
The Slaw is unlike any other we’ve tasted and is a must try.
We like the window tables, but when it’s busy, as if often is,  it’s a little quieter in the booths.  Anytime is a good time to Gongfu!
